DeKALB – The City of DeKalb has declared a parking prohibition on all designated snow routes in the city due to snowfall exceeding 2 inches, according to a Tuesday news release. The parking restriction was canceled at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The parking prohibition began at 7:30 a.m. and will be canceled once plowing is completed.

The DeKalb Police Department will be enforcing snow emergency routes and seasonal parking restrictions. Officers are authorized to ticket and tow vehicles in violation of the parking restrictions. Anyone in violation of the restriction will be fined not less than $25 or more than $75.

Residents of DeKalb are strongly encouraged to move their cars from all city streets to facilitate snow removal operations during plowing.
