The forces against the Illinois constitutional amendment to clarify the duty of Illinois to properly fund public education wants voters to believe that their income taxes would automatically rise 50 percent if approved.

If the voters of Illinois pass this important ballot question, the legislature has a number of options to fund the schools.

NOTHING IN THE AMENDMENT MANDATES ANY TAX INCREASE OF ANY KIND ON ANYONE!

This newspaper and other media will be publishing the constitutional amendment in the near future. I ask all voters to read Illinois Constitutional Amendment, Article X, which is simply written in straightforward language and supportive of the needs of children and adults who rely on educational programs.
