DeKALB — The men’s basketball team has decided to extend its pause and postpone its next game against the Central Michigan University Chippewas. The game was originally slated for 1:30 p.m Saturday at the NIU Convocation Center in DeKalb.

The decision was made after positive COVID-19 tests and contract tracing throughout the week, according to the NIU Athletics website. This will be the sixth straight game NIU has had to postpone this season due to implications caused by COVID-19.

There has not been any information released on when this game will be rescheduled. NIU’s next scheduled game is 2 p.m Feb. 9 at the NIU Convocation Center in DeKalb.

That game will be available on ESPN+.
