DeKALB – NIU announced Thursday that the university would hold a series of in-person commencement ceremonies for 2020 and Spring 2021 graduates, according to a Thursday email sent to staff.

Ceremonies for Spring 2021 graduates will be held from June 4 to June 6. For 2020 graduates, ceremonies will be held from June 25 to June 27, except for 2020 doctoral students who will have a June 4 ceremony.

All ceremonies will be held outdoors at the Huskie Stadium, and each graduate can bring two guests. Face masks and social distancing will be enforced at all of the ceremonies.

“We are determined to make these events joyous and as safe as possible, and we will be asking members of the Huskie community to volunteer their time on those weekends to make that happen,” the Thursday email reads.

More information on how to register and assistance needed by graduates will be provided at a later date.
