DeKALB —The award-winning “Swept Under the Rug” exhibit returned to the Pick Museum of Anthropology. The exhibit, which received the “2020 Award of Superior Achievement” from the Illinois Association of Museums, will be showing throughout April.
Curated by Safe Passage, DeKalb County’s domestic violence and sexual assault crisis center, “Swept Under the Rug” aims to shine a light on the widespread impact of sexual violence on survivors within the local community, in the hopes of creating a space for conversations, according to the exhibitions information page. This offers a sobering yet necessary look at an often unspoken issue.
