DeKALB — NIU announced Monday that seven additional students and no employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, and 32 students have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Monday, 50 students and two employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 999 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 947 have recovered.

As of Monday at 3 p.m., NIU is at a 13.5% quarantine and isolation use, an 8% decrease from Friday.

Surveillance testing 

NIU administered 1,669 COVID-19 tests during the week of April 19 for surveillance testing. The positivity rate was 2.2%, with 37 recorded positive results, according to surveillance testing data.

Surveillance testing data is updated on the dashboard website every Monday, or on a Tuesday if a holiday falls on a Monday.
