DeKALB – NIU announced Monday no additional COVID-19 cases, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Monday, no Huskies are currently COVID-19 positive and six have recovered.

Employees who aren’t vaccinated and work on campus in Housing and Residential Services, Campus Dining Services, the Child Development and Family Center, Human Resource Services and the Holmes Student Center are required to take a weekly surveillance test during the summer.

NIU administered 119 COVID-19 tests during the week of June 28 for surveillance testing. The positivity rate was 0%, with no recorded positive results, according to surveillance testing data.

During the summer, students and faculty with in-person classes who aren’t vaccinated will also be required to participate in surveillance testing. Surveillance testing is also available on a voluntary basis to any NIU student or employee who would like to be regularly tested.

Testing takes place Mondays and Thursdays, and the dashboard is updated every Monday.
