Expo hosts student organizations

All NIU organizations have until Monday to join the 4th Annual Organizational Expo.

Z. Ahmad, program coordinator for Programming and Activities, said this year’s expo already has attracted 27 organizations.

However, Ahmad said he expects at least 100 organizations to jump at the expo.

The fair kicks off Wednesday, Sept. 9, on the main floor of the Holmes Student Center.

“The purpose of the expo is a recruitment for all student organizations,” Ahmad said.

The Student Association and NIU’s Programming and Activities cosponsor the event, and punched in this year’s theme of “Invest in Your Future.”

Some organizations already signed up for the expo include the Black Choir, Christian Campus Ministry, Dance Quente, Family Service Agency, Golden Key National Honor Society, Blood Commission and Pine Acres Care Center.

Some fraternities and sororities that do not have their Rush quota also will participate in the event, Ahmad said.

The following organizations will offer open houses for students to check out their offices: Programming and Activities, the Student Association, the Gay and Lesbian Union, the Holmes Student Center, Cooperative Education and the Campus Activities Board.
