6 students tests positive, 1 employee tests positive for COVID 19

DeKALB – NIU announced on Thursday that 1 additional student and 0 employees have tested positive for Coronavirus and 1 student and 2 employees have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Thursday, 30 Students are currently Covid positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative statistics show that 114 people have tested positive for Covid 19 and 76 people have currently recovered since the semester began on August 23rd

Surveillance Testing

NIU administered 1,905 Covid tests since the week of Aug. 30 for surveillance testing. The positivity rate was 1.02% with 16 positive test results, according to surveillance testing data. Surveillance testing data is updated on the Dashboard every Monday or on a Tuesday if the holiday falls on a Monday.

What to do if you test positive

Faculty, staff and students are to complete the COVID-19 Checklist if diagnosed with COVID-19, have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
