DeKalb County reports 15 additional COVID-19 cases

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced 19 new COVID-19 cases Friday and the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 12,370 and 50,340 county residents are fully vaccinated, 48.34% of the county population.

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 2,446 are younger than 19, 2,960 are in their 20s, 1,875 are in their 30s, 1,648 are in their 40s, 1,470 are in their 50s, 1,017 are in their 60s, 511 are in their 70s and 443 are 80 or older.

As of Friday, 133 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.

Statewide, there are 1.6 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 25,407 recorded deaths as of Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The state has fully vaccinated 6.8 million residents as of Friday, 63.4% of the state population.
