Egyptian Theatre to host Anime Film Festival

Ashlie Amber will perform her show “Ashlie Amber: I Will Always Love You” at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 18.

DeKALB – The Egyptian Theatre is hosting an Anime Film Festival on Saturday at 6 p.m. The festival is sponsored by the NIU Division of Academic Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion along with the NIU Asian American Resource Center and is free for all who would like to attend.

 The movies set to be featured include “The Girl Who Leaped Through Time” at 6 p.m. and “Akira” at 8 p.m. “The Girl Who Leaped Through Time” follows the story of a teenaged time traveler whose ability is starting to affect those around her. “Akira” is the story of two friends with one having psychic powers and the other having to keep him from a path of violence. Both films will be showing the English dubbed version. 

The Egyptian Theatre is located at 135 N 2nd Street, Dekalb. The event is expected to be over around 10 p.m. Saturday. For any questions regarding the event on Saturday, readers can view the NIU events calendar for more information.
