Athlete and activist Kye Allums speaks about the obstacles of being a transgender person Tuesday in the Duke Ellington Ballroom of the Holmes Student Center. Allums said being assigned a gender at birth does not implicitly mean all people identify with their assigned sex. Allums is a public speaker and founder of the I Am Enough project, a storytelling platform dedicated to encouraging self-love for everyone on the gender spectrum.
