Egyptian Theatre to host a showing of ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’

DeKALB — The Egyptian Theatre will be offering a free film screening of “Judas and the Black Messiah”.  The showing will take place at 6 p.m. on February 23. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. 

Judas and the Black Messiah tells the story of an activist, played by Daniel Kaluuya, who becomes Chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party. Since he is not favored by the government, they send in FBI informant, William O’Neal, played by LaKeith Stanfield, to infiltrate the party’s plans. 

After the screening, a panel on the Black Panthers, Black Resistance will discuss their importance to the community.
