DeKALB – The DeKalb Community is invited to help create a two-story mural along the walls of City Hall.

The design takes inspiration from agricultural and symbolic ideas expressed during workshops run by the artist, Danielle Casali. The mural will be a blend of mosaic panels and paintings that reflects the foundations of DeKalb.

The DeKalb community is welcomed to participate in the creation of the mural during workshops held at the DeKalb Public Library. Volunteers will get the chance to work alongside the artist while learning how to use artistic hand tools to help sculpt the mosaic which is part of the mural. Volunteering is open to all regardless of age or ability.

Dates to volunteer are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 18, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 25, and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. April 27. More dates to volunteer will be scheduled as work progresses.

To sign-up for volunteer times, visit the City of DeKalb’s website.
