DeKALB – After finishing tied for eighth place at this weekend’s VCU Shootout, junior Ben Sluzas was honored with MAC Co-Golfer of the Week.
At the tournament, Sluzas finished the three rounds shooting a 285, setting his 54-hole career best score.
Sluzas opened the tournament shooting a 69 in the first round. He followed it up with his worst score of the tournament – 72. Sluzas finished the tournament off strong, shooting his best round score of the season with a 66.
Sluzas’ 66 in the third round boosted the Huskies into a sixth-place tie.
With this honor, Sluzas has now received four MAC Golfer of the Week awards with three last season.
Sluzas’ and the Huskies’ next tournament is the Badger Invitational, which is an all-day event from Oct. 1 through Oct. 3 at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin. Live stats will be available on GolfStat.
