In this Weekly Writeup, you will find events such as a donor appreciation event, a scholarly stitch circle, an electronic music concert in the Music Building and a Latine music lyrical analysis event.
MORNING BREW AND WRITE: PLAN FOR THE SEMESTER
Date and Time: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday
Location: Founders Memorial Library, 71 North Partnership Studio
Graduate students can enjoy coffee while planning their goals for the semester at the Morning Brew and Write in the Founders Memorial Library. This event gives graduate students an environment to focus and prepare for the spring semester.
THANKUARY DONOR GRATITUDE EVENT
Date and Time: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday
Location: Neptune Hall, Trident Room
You can show your appreciation to the donors of NIU at the Thankuary Donor Gratitude Event. The event celebrates the donors who support NIU and its students.
During the event there will be activities like sending a video message to donors. Snacks such as hot cocoa and cookies will be available along with the opportunity to win some prizes.
LYRICAL LEMONADE: LATINE LYRICAL ANALYSIS
Date and Time: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday
Location: Holmes Student Center, Capitol Room
The Lyrical Lemonade: Latine Analysis will focus on the cultural impact made by Hispanic and Latine artists. Open to all, the event focuses on lyric analysis and the influence of the Hispanic and Latine music genre.
Date and Time: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday
Location: Founders Memorial Library, Lower Level Staff Lounge
Students interested in hands-on activities can attend the Scholarly Stitch Circle. Attendees can knit and crochet in a relaxing environment to destress. Prior knowledge of crocheting and knitting is not needed as there may be participants willing to help if you are a novice.
Date and Time: 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday
Location: Music Building, Recital Hall
Students can end the week by seeing the Electronic and Computer Music Concert. This free of cost concert features electronic and computer made music performed in the Recital Hall of the Music Building. Streaming is also available for this event.
