NIU men’s tennis wrapped up the regular season sweeping the Mid-American Conference awards on Monday. The nods account for the Huskies’ 10th award this season.
Seniors Iker Gaztambide Arrastia and Federico Scotuzzi were named Doubles Team of the Week for the second time while Arrastia was also named Singles Player of the Week.
Scotuzzi claimed his third Doubles Team of the Week shout and Arrastia grabbed his fifth season award; fourth Singles Team of the Week and second Doubles Team of the Week.
The Huskie pair came out victorious in their doubles matchups at No. 1 versus conference rivals Western Michigan University and Ball State University.
WESTERN MICHIGAN
In Thursday’s 5-2 home defeat to the Broncos, Arrastia and Scotuzzi handled graduate Tim Riedel and junior Drew Evans 6-3.
At No. 2 singles, Arrastia coasted past sophomore Alex Antonopoulos in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.
BALL STATE
In Saturday’s 4–1 home win against the Cardinals, the Huskie duo faced little resistance in their 6-2 win over seniors Brock Fletcher and Jacks Lancaster.
Arrastia capped off his 4-0 week with a double breadstick domination versus freshman Andrei Caragea.

The No. 3 Huskies (17-7, 7-3 MAC) travel to Buffalo to face No. 2 Western Michigan University (15-9, 8-2 MAC) in the 2026 MAC Men’s Tennis Championship semi-final 1 p.m. Saturday at UB Tennis Court at the University at Buffalo.
