DeKALB — The Student Government Association’s 2026 special election concluded Wednesday with seven candidates being elected.
The SGA special election provided an opportunity for candidates who didn’t participate in the main SGA election in March to run for any remaining SGA senatorial positions.
Damani Thomas and Christopher Sloncen were elected to fill the College of Business constituency by 11 and 12 votes, respectively, with four abstentions.
Michael Foster, David Stypka and Tristan Gunther were elected to fill the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology constituency, Foster and Stypka both having 12 votes and Gunther with four. There were seven abstention votes.
Ayden Ransford was elected to fill the College of Health and Human Sciences constituency by 19 votes with seven abstentions.
Oyeyemi Oyebode was elected to fill the graduate at large constituency by 17 votes with nine abstentions.
These positions are to be filled for the fall 2026 semester during SGA’s 58th session.
