Junior quarterback Drew Hare was awarded MAC honor this week for his record-setting performance against Ball State on Saturday.

The conference named Hare the MAC West Division Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after obtaining the highest passing completion percentage in NIU football history. This is the second time Hare has received the honor, the first on Sept. 13, 2014, according to an NIU Athletics news release.

Hare completed 29 out of 32 passing attempts, totaling his completion percentage at 90.6. The previous record was set by Chandler Harnish, who completed 20 passes for a 81.8 completion percentage against Kansas in 2011, according to NIU Athletics.

Hare joins Kenny Golladay, redshirt junior wide receiver, sophomore cornerback Shawun Lurry and junior kickoff returner Aregeros Turner in receiving the honor this season.

The Huskies (3-3, 1-1 MAC) will take on Miami (Ohio) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Oxford, Ohio. The game can be watched on ESPN3.
