Huskies gain few yards in close defeat against Boston College

The Huskies gained few yards in the first half what turned out to be a close defeat against Boston College at 17-14.

The teams were tied up 7-7 at the end of the first half . NIU struggled to move the ball the entire game. In the first half, the Huskies were only able to move the ball for 40 yards, averaging only 1.4 yards per play.

The Eagles, even though the score was close, moved the ball more effectively throughout the game. In the first half the Eagles had a total of 178 total yards with 103 of them coming from the run game. They finished with 327 yards total with 235 coming from the ground.

The Huskies had an opportunity for a comeback towards the end of the fourth quarter. NIU returned a 51 yard kickoff to bring the score to 17-14 with 4:27 left in the game after an Eagles field goal attempt.

With their final possession and no timeouts left, the Huskies weren’t able to move the ball close enough for a potential field goal to tie the game.
