DeKALB — The women’s tennis team suffered a 4-1 loss on the road to the University of Bradley Braves Tuesday.

NIU won two of the three doubles matches against Bradley with junior Fernanda Naves and senior Lara Slisko winning 7-6 and junior Iuliia Dmitrieva and first-year Diana Lukyanova winning their match 6-2. First-year Anastasia Rakita and junior Christy Robinson lost in their doubles match 6-3.

NIU was swept in the singles matches against Bradley, losing all six of their singles matches. Also, the Huskies were playing without two of their starters, which was a big factor into why they lost the match.
The Huskies are now 11-10 on the season and 3-3 in the Mid-American Conference. They are only 2-7 on the road compared to an 8-3 record at home.

The Huskies will head back home to play the Ball State University Cardinals in their next match. The match would have originally been against the University of DePaul Blue Devils, but the match was canceled and replaced. The match will begin at 1 p.m. Friday in DeKalb.
