25th annual ‘Spooktacular’ to be held downtown DeKalb

This will be the 25th annual “Spooktacular” consisting of a free movie, trick-or-treating and more.

DeKALB –  The DeKalb Chamber of Commerce will be teaming up with the city of DeKalb and its downtown merchants for DeKalb’s 25th annual Spooktacular, according to a press release.

Spooktacular is a trick-or-treating event that will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday in downtown DeKalb. 

Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite Halloween costume to the event. After the trick-or-treating ends, there will be a free showing of “Hocus Pocus” at 6:30 p.m. at the Egyptian Theatre at 135 2nd Street. No tickets or registration will be necessary. 

Over 30 downtown DeKalb businesses will be participating in the event. Sponsors for the event include the Aurora Music Company, Illinois Community Credit Union and Willrett Flower Company.
