Alyssa Welch, Former News Reporter
Alyssa Welch is a freshman from Chicago’s South Side and is majoring in pre-physical therapy in the College of Health and Human Sciences. Once an award-winning news broadcaster in high school, Alyssa joined the Northern Star in fall 2025 and currently hosts the Star’s weekly news podcast. When she’s not doing any of that, Alyssa enjoys drawing, reading manga novels and singing in the Northern Black Choir.
