“THE BOYS” (AMAZON PRIME VIDEO)

“The Boys” is an action-comedy superhero series created by Eric Kripke. The show was developed from a comic book series with the same title created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.

The show stars Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr and Karen Fukuhara. Season 1 premiered in July 2019 and the recent third season premiered in June with a total of eight episodes.

The series is set in a universe where superheroes are treated like celebrities despite their reckless and violent behavior. These “heroes” remain untouched and unapologetic until a group of four men, referred to as “The Boys’ ” decide to go after the superheroes that don’t play fair.

“THE GREAT” (HULU)

“The Great” is a loosely accurate historical comedy-drama following the rise and reign of Catherine the Great.

Starring Elle Fanning as the Empress of Russia, she sets her sights on overthrowing her arrogant and irresponsible husband, Peter III of Russia, played by Nicholas Hoult, and placing herself on the throne. With whimsical twists and turns, “The Great” draws attention to the sacrifices and hardships Catherine made while trying to establish a stable and modernized Russia.

The show also stars Phoebe Fox, Gillian Anderson and Adam Godley. The series currently has two seasons and it is unclear when season three will premiere on Hulu.
