Hockey hosts conference foe in final weekend of semester

DeKALB – NIU hockey is the only team scheduled to defend home this weekend while both of NIU’s basketball teams travel on the road. Meanwhile, NIU’s track and field season gets underway with an event hosted by the University of Notre Dame.

NIU hockey enters its final series of the calendar year still in search of its first win. The Huskies play host to the McKendree Bearcats, a Midwest College Hockey rival, with an opportunity to head into Winter Break with a win or two.

Supporters of NIU’s track and field program will get their first look at the 2023’ squad as the Huskies travel west to Indiana. There, NIU will compete in the Blue and Gold Invitational.

Women’s basketball enters Saturday’s battle of in-state opponents with an impressive 6-1 record. NIU will challenge the Panthers with a lineup that features a formidable trio of players like senior guard Chelby Koker, senior forward A’Jah Davis and graduate guard Janae Poisson.
