DeKALB – At approximately 11:15 p.m. Sunday, two NIU students in Patterson Hall West were in a physical altercation that resulted in one being transported to Kishwaukee Hospital.

The students were arguing before the incident occurred and had known each other beforehand, according to a news release from NIU.

The student transported to Kishwaukee Hospital was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and has been released.

“NIU Police and the Office of Student Conduct continue to investigate the matter and will determine appropriate disciplinary actions,” according to the release.
