DeKALB – The City of DeKalb has announced plans for a new mural and they’re looking to local residents for inspiration.

According to a press release from the city, NIU alum and artist Danielle Casali will lead two workshops where attendees will brainstorm ideas and discuss DeKalb’s history. Community members are invited to participate in the workshops.

The ideas brainstormed in the workshops will be used to form the basis of Casali’s mural design.

The workshops will take place at the DeKalb Public Library in the Yusunas Meeting Room. The two sessions will be hosted on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m.
