DeKALB – Senior forward A’Jah Davis broke the NIU women’s basketball double-double record in the team’s 73-63 win over Eastern Michigan University on March 1 to earn her second Huskie of the Week honor.

Davis posted 19 points on 8-for-17 shooting with 11 rebounds in her record-breaking performance, which was the most on the team in both categories. Davis and the Huskies clinched a berth in the Mid-American Conference tournament with the win.

Davis recorded another double-double in the team’s regular-season finale against Kent State University on March 4. She put up 11 points on 5-for-12 shooting and 12 rebounds despite the 73-58 loss.

Honorable mentions were awarded to Huskie wrestling redshirt senior Izzak Olejnik and Huskie baseball junior infielder Aaron Harper. Olejnik brought home the 165-pound title at the MAC championship. Harper hit 8-for-15 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in baseball’s four-game series at Western Kentucky.

Next week’s Huskie of the Week will be announced on March 13.
