Ly earns MAC Golfer of the Week after Clover Cup

DeKALB – NIU women’s golf junior Jasmine Ly earned her first Mid-American Conference golfer of the week honor on March 16, as NIU women’s golf tied for 10th place at the Clover Cup.

Ly was NIU’s top-placing golfer and helped the Huskies to their 10th-place finish out of 14 teams. NIU tied with the University of Notre Dame as they both scored 42-over par, 906. 

Ly finished tied for 20th place overall, scoring three-over par, 219, with Clemson University senior Savannah Grewal. 

Ly, a native of Windsor, Ontario, finished the first round with a score of one-over par, the second round at two-over par and finished round three with a score of even par. Ly also led the Huskies with 10 birdies through three rounds.

This is the third time this season a Huskie has earned the honor of golfer of the week. Ly’s teammate, graduate student Sydney Naro, has been named golfer of the week twice this season. 

NIU’s next invitational will take place from April 3 to April 4 at the Pinetree Collegiate tournament in Kennesaw, Georgia. The event will be held at the Pinetree Country Club with live scores available at golfstat.com.
