DeKALB – NIU Athletics kicks off another full slate of sports this week, headlined by baseball’s trip to Northwestern and softball’s home series with Central Michigan. 

BASEBALL

The NIU baseball team (4-15) will take on Northwestern University (1-14) on Tuesday. The Huskies will then travel to Ohio for a three game series against Xavier University (10-10) over the weekend.

The NIU softball team (10-12) will travel to Muncie to take on Ball State University (11-12) Tuesday and Wednesday. The Huskies will then return home to face Central Michigan University (10-13) in a three-game series on Saturday and Sunday.

NIU’s men’s tennis (11-5) will travel to Binghamton to take on Binghamton University (4-14) Friday at 1 p.m. The Huskies will then travel to Buffalo to take on the University at Buffalo (5-6) on Sunday at 11 p.m.

TRACK AND FIELD

NIU women’s track and field will travel to Normal, Illinois for the Redbird Invitational. The Invitational will take place on Friday March 31 and Saturday April 1 at ISU’s Redbird Track and Field Complex. 

MEN’S GOLF 

Thursday, March 30 to Saturday, April 1: at Stanford University

San Francisco, Ca. / TPC Harding Park

NIU men’s golf is headed to San Francisco to take on Stanford University in The Goodwin. In the Huskies’ last tournament – the Missouri State Intercollegiate – NIU placed third out of 15 teams. Freshman Ian Bruchhauser and graduate student Tommy Dunsire had NIU’s best individual performances. Bruchhauser finished second overall shooting three under par and Dunsire tied for tenth shooting two over par. The Huskies will look to build on their strong start to the spring.
