DeKALB – The information in this report is compiled from the NIU Police Department’s Daily Crime Log.

Any case defined as “unfounded” was not included in this list. Any case “closed by exception” means the case is closed due to circumstances outside of the investigation (missing a complainant, suspect was arrested for another crime, etc.). Any “suspended” case means the investigation is paused until leads become available. All locations provided are general.

March 1

  • At 10 a.m., failure to notify damage/unattended vehicle occurred at the parking deck at 175 Normal Road. This case is suspended.
  • At 4:15 p.m., a case of criminal trespass to real property occurred at Grant Residence Hall North. This case is open.

 

March 2

  • Identity theft occurred at Wirtz Hall. This case is suspended.

  • At 3:54 a.m., illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor occurred at Grant Residence Hall North. This case was closed by exception.
  • At 9 a.m., criminal damage to property and domestic battery occurred at Stevenson Residence Hall North. This case is suspended.
  • At 12:50 p.m., a case of disorderly conduct occurred at Montgomery Hall. This case is suspended.
  • At 7:47 p.m., residential burglary and criminal trespass to residence occurred  at Grant Residence Hall North. This case was closed by exception.
