Ben Sluzas named MAC Golfer of the Week

DeKALB – Sophomore Ben Sluzas earned MAC Golfer of the Week honors after finishing tied for third place at the Hawkeye Invitational. Sluzas’ eight-under-par finish helped NIU place third out of 13 teams. 

Starting the tournament shooting a 71 in the first round, Sluzas went on to match his career low of 66 in the second round. Sluzas shot a 66 previously in the second round of the Badger Invitational.

Sluzas rounded out the tournament shooting a 71 in the third round. Sluzas’ performance helped the Huskies’ match their 18-hole record – 275 – that the team set in 2016, according to the MAC

Sluzas and the Huskies will now compete in the Robert Kepler Invitational. The tournament is an all day event starting Saturday and going through Sunday. The tournament is hosted by Ohio State University at the OSU Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio and live scoring will be available on GolfStat.
