Ellwood House Museum opens doors for summer events

DeKALB – Ellwood House Museum is opening its doors to two upcoming events, an Evening at Elcourt and Tea Party at Ellcourt.

EVENING AT ELLCOURT

7 p.m. to 9 p.m. May 12 at 420 Linden Place, Ellwood House Association will be hosting Evening at Ellcourt.

Evening at Ellcourt will give party goers an opportunity to learn about Ellcourt House as staff on hand teach about the historic space. Cocktails and appetizers will be provided by Fatty’s Pub and Grille. Food and nonalcoholic drinks are unlimited. One alcoholic drink is included with ticket purchase and additional drinks are available to purchase at the event.

The Paul Barrilles Trio will be in performance, playing jazz music throughout the evening in the Music Room.

Tickets are limited and should be purchased in advance. Ticket prices are $25 per person, $20 for Ellwood House Museum Members and $15 for designated drivers. Attendees must be 21 years or older to purchase tickets to this event.

TEA PARTY AT ELLCOURT

Ellwood House Museum will hold a youth and family tea party from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. May 13 420 Linden Place.

Guests will be given a Victorian era experience drinking tea from antique china and will play Victorian party games. Attendees will also complete a craft at the event to take home with them.

Tea Party at Ellcourt House is part of Ellwood House Museum’s youth educational series of programs, Ellwood Explorers. An Ellwood Explorer’s event will occur once a month in May, June and July.
