At 6:10 p.m. Sept. 7 near Elm Street and Somonauk Street in Sycamore, a 17-year-old male student was stabbed by another individual.

“It was two parties that confronted each other and the stabbing resulted as a part of that confrontation,” Jim Winters, Sycamore Chief of Police, said.

The Sycamore Police Department believes that seven people are involved in the confrontation.

The Sycamore Fire Department and EMS transported the victim to Northwest Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital where he died, according to a press release from the Sycamore Police Department.

A primary juvenile suspect was later taken into custody at a residence in Sycamore.
