Sci-fi, dark comedy and more, find out what to watch

With the movie and streaming markets being so oversaturated, it is hard to decide what to watch. That being said, we at the Northern Star got you covered with new and upcoming productions that are sure to catch your eye.

“The Creator”

This upcoming sci-fi flick was directed and produced by Gareth Edwards, known for “Godzilla” (2014) and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” (2016). The film is scheduled for theatrical release on Sept. 29.

In this film, humanity is at war with artificial intelligence. The humans are seeking to destroy the leader of the AI in order to protect the future of the human race.

“Loki” SEASON 2

The long anticipated season 2 of the hit Disney plus original is scheduled to drop on the streaming on Oct. 5.

The second season follows Loki as he struggles to deal with the fractured timeline and the rise of a diabolical force that threatens reality as we know it.

“My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3”

Written, directed and starring Nia Vardalos, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” follows up with Portokalos family again after the events of the first two films. In this movie, the family travels to Greece for a family reunion after the death of a loved one.

This movie is currently in theaters. Even if you’re unfamiliar with the first two films, if you like big, loud and family oriented movies, this flick is for you.

“The Kill Room

“The Kill Room” was directed by Nicol Paone and features an ensemble cast. This dark comedy stars the likes of Uma Thurman, Joe Manganiello and Samuel L. Jackson. The film releases on Sept. 28.

In this film, a series of hilarious accidents turns an assassin into an overnight art sensation.
