With All Hallow’s Eve fast approaching, the time has come to appease the spirits with candy and fun Halloween events at the DeKalb Public Library.
LASER CUT AND PAINT WOODEN HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS
People can get into Spooky Season with wood-cut Halloween decorations. Painting and supplies provided. This event is intended for teens and adults. The event takes place on Oct. 20.
HOMESCHOOL HAPPENINGS: HALLOWEEN PARTY
This Oct. 23 event is aimed at children and takes place annually. There will be fun, food and games. Children are encouraged to come in costume.
HONOR YOUR ANCESTORS ON DAY OF THE DEAD
With Honor Your Ancestors on Day of the Dead on Oct. 26, patrons get a chance to paint sugar skulls and tissue-paper marigolds while learning more about the history and traditions of Day of the Dead. All supplies will be provided. This event is free and recommended for ages 8 and up.
TODDLER HALLOWEEN TRICK-OR-TREAT PARADE
Join the library’s children’s department for a family fun experience with the Toddler Halloween Trick-or-treat Parade. Participants are encouraged to dress up and will march together around the library to receive candy.
The parade will take place Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 and is free to all. No registration is required.
All these events are free and operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.
