NIU softball (7-18, 1-5 MAC) looks to snap a five-game losing streak as it opens its home schedule against the DePaul University Blue Demons (6-20, 2-4 BEC).
On the weekend, the Huskies host their first conference opponent, the Kent State University Golden Flashes (17-8, 3-0 MAC), with a three-game home series. The Huskies will search for their second MAC win after starting the season 1-0.

After winning its first two series of conference play, NIU baseball (8-16, 5-4 MAC) dropped its first MAC series last week, losing two of three games to the University of Miami RedHawks. The Huskies lost to Illinois State University in a stand alone mid-week game before dropping the first two games against Miami. NIU avoided a sweep in the third game of the set behind seven shutout innings from redshirt sophomore pitcher Adam Brouwer.
On Tuesday, the Huskies will travel to Evanston to take on the Northwestern University Wildcats (10-11). NIU will then head to Ohio to face the University of Toledo Rockets (10-13, 6-3 MAC).

Winning matches against the University of Buffalo and the University of Toledo, NIU men’s tennis (15-3, 4-1 MAC) improves to 4-1 in conference play. The Huskies return home to face another MAC opponent in the University of Illinois Chicago (8-7, 0-4 MAC) as they look to add to a four match win streak.

Earning their first conference win against Western Michigan University after dropping a match to Miami University, NIU women’s tennis (12-7, 1-2 MAC) faces Eastern Michigan University (7-8, 1-2 MAC) on Friday to continue MAC play.

NIU track and field will begin its outdoor season with a split squad at three different invitationals. The Huskies will travel to Texas for the Texas Relays hosted by the University of Texas and the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas State University.
NIU will also visit Normal, Illinois, for the Redbird Invitational at Illinois State University. This will be the Huskies’ first action since Feb. 24 at the MAC Indoor Championships.
WOMEN’S GOLF

NIU women’s golf just wrapped up the NAU Red Rocks Invitational, finishing tied for fourth place out of 20 teams. The top-five finish was keyed by senior Emily Romancew, ranking first place at the tournament.
The Huskies’ next tournament is the Pinetree Intercollegiate, an all-day event stretching from Monday, March 25 until Tuesday, March 26 in Kennesaw, Georgia.
