NIU women’s soccer junior forward Kelsi McLaughlin earned this week’s Huskie of the Week award for the first time in her collegiate career.
McLaughlin led NIU in scoring this week, accounting for two out of the three goals the Huskies scored.
In the Huskies’ first match of the week – a 1-0 win over Illinois State University Thursday – McLaughlin logged the lone goal for NIU. She recorded 2 shots on goal.
In NIU’s second matchup of the week – a 2-1 victory over Valparaiso University Sunday – McLaughlin notched the Huskies’ first goal of the match.
Next week’s Huskie of the Week will be announced Sept. 23.
The Northern Star sports section’s Huskie of the Week is voted for on a weekly basis. Student-athletes considered for this week’s edition were chosen based on their weekly performance in competitions taking place from Sept. 9 to Sept. 15.
