The best “Dragon Ball” game of our generation is right around the corner, and with the recent announcement of “GT” characters included in the game, excitement for “Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO” has never been higher.
On Sept. 12, a trailer was released to showcase additional characters that would be in the game, however, these characters were unlike those shown in the last couple of weeks, such as the characters from “Dragon Ball Z.”
To the delight of “Dragon Ball” fans across the world, the trailer showcased characters such as GT Goku, Pan, Baby Vegeta, Uub, Omega Shenron, Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta and Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta.
These characters in particular come from the “Dragon Ball GT” series instead of the younger series “Dragon Ball Super.”
Many of them had been mascots of the beloved game “Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 3” and were some of the most powerful and popular characters available to play.
Before the trailer was released, it was assumed that characters from the “Dragon Ball GT” series would not be included in the main game as there had been no information confirming they would be.
Now that it has been confirmed most “GT” characters will be in the base game, it puts the hearts and minds of fans who feared the worst about the beloved, older series at ease.
While many popular “GT” characters will be in the game at launch, there were other fan favorites that were missing from the trailer.
Iconic “GT” characters Super 17, Nuova Shenron and Eis Shenron were nowhere to be seen in the recent trailer and, with so few spaces remaining, it is safe to assume they most likely will not be in the game once it releases.
“Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO” takes heavy inspiration from “Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 3,” and contains many of the same characters and, as such, there is room for any missing characters to be introduced later in the game’s lifespan.
While some characters may not make the official release of the game, that doesn’t necessarily mean they will be left out as they can always be included as DLC.
Other characters from the newest “Dragon Ball” series “Dragon Ball: Daima” will also be introduced once the series releases on Oct. 11.
As the days inch forward, it seems “Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO” can’t be here soon enough. Now that it has been established that “GT” will be included, that leaves hope for equally beloved characters from the original “Dragon Ball” series.
