NIU gymnastics released its 2025 schedule Thursday afternoon, outlining 12 meets with four on Huskie soil in the spring.
“We are super excited to be only 71 days away from our 2025 season,” interim gymnastics head coach Dawnita Teague said in the NIU press release. “We open at Florida and anticipate great energy and a full house. Our athletes are looking forward to competing at home four times this year. This is a fantastic time to be a Huskie, and we are very proud of these women.”
The Huskies hit the road to begin their season in University of Florida’s quad meet Jan. 10. They’ll travel to Eastern Michigan University for another quad meet Jan. 17 before returning to host Illinois State University on Jan. 24 while celebrating graduating Huskies on senior night.
NIU gymnastics will kick off February at home, facing conference rivals in Eastern Michigan a second time Feb. 2. The Huskies will compete alongside NIU wrestling in their annual Beauty and the Beast meet at the NIU Convocation Center on Feb. 7 against Kent State University.
They’ll go back on the road to challenge Southeast Missouri State University and Centenary College on Feb. 14 and round out the month against the 2024 MAC champions Western Michigan University.
On March 2, the Huskies meet with Ball State University before hosting their last meet of the season against Bowling Green State University on March 9. NIU gymnastics hits the road one last time to meet Central Michigan University on March 14 and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign on March 16 to close out the regular season.
All of NIU’s meets are free to attend, and you can see the Huskies in action for the first time in their annual Red/Black Intrasquad meet at home on Dec. 8.
