NIU women’s basketball redshirt sophomore forward Brooke Blumenfeld earned this week’s Huskie of the Week after leading the Huskies in scoring in their 73-71 loss against the University of Akron Zips Wednesday.
Blumenfeld contributed 16 points in the Huskies narrow loss against Akron and another 10 points Saturday in the 61-57 setback against the Western Michigan University Broncos.
Blumenfeld recorded 3 rebounds against the Zips while shooting 53% in 32 minutes on the floor. Her 16 points are the second highest in her career.
Shooting 50% from the floor, Blumenfeld also recorded 3 rebounds against the Broncos. She also contributed 1 assist, 1 block and 1 steal for the Huskies. Blumenfeld’s 10 points against Western Michigan is her third double-digit game in the last four contests for NIU.
NIU women’s basketball returns to action at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Convocation Center against the Miami University Redhawks. Live stats will be updated on SIDEARM stats and a live stream will be available on ESPN+.
