Special education seminar

Special education and physical education teachers are invited to “Adapted Physical Education Activities for Special Students,” a program sponsored by NIU’s College of Continuing Education. The program will be tonight from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the YMCA, 200 Y Blvd., Rockford. James Rimmer, NIU physical education faculty member, will lead the seminar. Topics will include activities for students with disabilities and problem-solving tips for behaviorally disordered children. The fee is $135. Sound Production in Pianos’

Anders Askenfelt, faculty member at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, will present “Sound Production in Pianos” tonight at 8:30 p.m. in room 144 of Faraday Hall. He will present “From Touch to String—Vibrations in the Piano,” tomorrow at 3:10 p.m. in Faraday 143.

Alumni to tour museum

KCH offers scholarships

Scholarships for DeKalb County residents employed in a health-related field or enrolled in a health-related curriculum are being offered by the Kishwaukee Community Hospital Auxiliary. Applications are available at the KCH reception desk, the nursing departments at Kishwaukee College and Waubonsee College and the School of Nursing and the School of Allied Health Professions at NIU.
