Women snag 2 victories

NIU’s women’s tennis coach Patty Groth had no complaints with winning two of three matches at the Aurora Tennis Club.
“Marquette is a big rival and we really wanted that one. We knew Miami University was really good, so we hoped to win two out of three and we did just that. We had a lot of people play some good tennis, so overall it was a very good weekend,” Groth said.
On Friday, NIU chalked up a 6-3 win over Marquette’s Warriors and then on Saturday, the Huskies picked up a 7-2 win over Gustavus Adolphus College. The only low point came on Sunday when Miami dropped NIU to 8-5 on the year with an 8-1 defeat.
NIU returns to action next Saturday facing both Michigan State and Michigan.
