NIU gymnastics junior Kiera O’Shea earned a spot on the 2025 Mid-American Conference First Team, the conference announced Tuesday.
With a National Qualifying Score of 9.840 this season, O’Shea led the MAC in the vault event. Moreover, her average mark of 9.814 also leads the conference.
O’Shea also tallied seven outright victories in the event this season, including a string of six-straight.
O’Shea’s best meet this season was the Western Michigan University Tri-Meet on Feb. 23, in which she posted a season-high score of 9.900 on the vault event.
Her performance helped the Huskies overcome the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater by a score of 194.500-193.400.
After winning the vault event last season, O’Shea and the Huskies face the 2025 MAC Championship at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
