Beta Alpha Psi offers tax help

The Beta Alpha Psi accounting fraternity at NIU will take the hassle out of income taxes.

“Any NIU student or faculty member can get their taxes done for free,” said Mike Williams, vice president of the Beta Alpha Psi fraternity.

Every spring, Beta Alpha Psi runs VITA which stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. It is a two-week program available to students and faculty at NIU. Members of the accounting fraternity assist any NIU student or faculty member with their taxes free of charge, Williams said.

This spring, the fraternity will be holding the tax assistance program on Feb. 18-22 and Feb. 25 through March 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center.

Williams said he encourages anyone to come and take advantage of the tax assistance program which is being sponsored by the fraternity.
