Armageddon profitable

There’s a new way to make lots and lots of money and it’s called Armageddon.

Now, this is nothing new, because people have been crying the sky is falling for many years, but this time there’s a new twist.

It’s called the Persian Gulf. Well, actually it has to do with Saddam Hussein, who claims he is building the new Babylon and, according to some preachers, televangelists and end-of-the-world teachers, this is the third event that will lead us to doom.

Before anyone starts packing bags to some remote island no one ever heard of, get a grip. There are a few things to consider. First is the amount of money televangelists and others who profess a need to save the sinners of the world are getting.

It’s bad enough these self-proclaimed saviors are emptying the pockets of those who have a strong, firm belief in God, but they don’t stop there.

These same saviors are reaping benefits from books they have written about Armageddon. On Jan. 15, 129,000 copies were sold of the Rev. Charles Dyer’s book “The Rise of Babylon: Sign of the End Times.”

What is even worse is that these same sin-free religious leaders are using a time of crisis to their own advantage.

Perhaps the Rev. Dyer and the many others like him never learned that you can’t take it with you. And, if manipulation of human emotions during a time of war isn’t considered a sin, perhaps the Book needs to be edited.
