The Northern Star is trying to do its share to send a positive message of support to U.S. troops in the Gulf.

As part of our internal support, the Star staff is sending off enough Kool-Aid so that the troops can have about 600 glasses of water with the poor taste disguised.

The Star also has extended the opportunity to its advertisers to show their support in today’s newspaper. The newspaper will be mailed to the Gulf today along with the Kool-Aid.

Please keep in mind that these efforts for the troops do not indicate that the Star staff or its advertisers are necessarily pro- or anti-war. But it does in fact show that those who participated by signing cards or purchasing ads are behind the men and women over there risking their lives.
