Becoming the second consecutive Huskie to take first at the Badger Invitational, men’s golf junior Craig Long has been named the Northern Star’s Huskie of the Week.
Long took first place at the University of Wisconsin-hosted Invitational, shooting a career-low 205, which was good for 11 under par.
Long was also named the MAC Co-Golfer of the week, sharing the title with Ball State freshman duo Samuel Harris and Luke Johnston.
This is the first-career Huskie of the Week honor for Long, and the first of the season for men’s golf.
NIU men’s golf returns to action on Oct. 12 at the Purdue Fall Invitational.
The Northern Star sports section’s Huskie of the Week is voted for on a weekly basis. Student-athletes considered for this week’s edition were selected based on their performance in competitions taking place from Sept. 22 to Sept. 28.
