EGYPTIAN THEATRE HORROR FILM SERIES 2025
Date and Time: 7 p.m. Tuesday
Location: Egyptian Theatre
To celebrate the spooky season, the Egyptian Theatre will be showing the 1987 film “The Lost Boys” in a horror film series that will continue until the end of October. Tickets are $14.50 for regular entry and $12 for students with ID and seniors over 65.

Trivia enthusiasts can test their knowledge against their peers in teams of two to four individuals with the chance to win NIU-themed prizes. Potential topics will include school lunch, real places in fiction, sports and GIFs. No fee or registration is required to enter and a phone or laptop is required to participate.
WOMEN IN STEM LECTURE SERIES FALL 2025

NIU ADVENTURES WEEKLY THURSDAY CAMPFIRES
Date and Time: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday
Location: Recreation Center, Adventure Center
Starting Oct. 2 and continuing until Oct. 30, NIU Adventures will be hosting campfires for the community every Thursday. Visitors are invited to bring their friends and enjoy a night of campfires, music, trivia and hot drinks. This event is free for all to attend.

The NIU School of Music will be performing the Fall Choral Collage to celebrate the arrival of the fall season. Tickets will be free for NIU students, $15 for the general public and $10 for seniors, staff and non-NIU students.

The School of Theatre and Dance will perform a Shakespearean classic directed by Kay Martinovich. Tickets will be free for NIU students, $20 for the general public, $18 for seniors (65 and over) as well as NIU staff and $12 for non-NIU students.
HOWL-O-WEEN DOG COSTUME CONTEST
Date and Time: 11 a.m. Saturday
Location: Katz Dog Park
Bring your furry friend to compete in the annual Howl-o-Ween Dog Costume Contest for the change to win prizes in three different categories. These categories are “Howling with Laughter,” “Bewitchingly Unique” and “Dynamic Duo of the Dead.” Registration will be between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. with judging beginning at 11 a.m.

The Kishwaukee Concert band will be coming to NIU to perform before the community. The band is made up of experienced musicians from around DeKalb and other communities and use a wide variety of instruments and tunes. The performance is free to attend.

The Hasty Measures Concert is a performance where students will play songs they have written and practiced in the past 48 hours. The concert will be free for all to attend.
