An annual seminar to address black concerns in education will be held at NIU this year.
The regional seminar of the Illinois Committee on Black Concerns in Higher Education is held at Illinois colleges every year, said Barbara Henley, student affairs vice president.
Anyone planning to attend the seminar needs to register at the student affairs office “as soon as possible” before Friday, Henley said.
The seminar will be held Tuesday in the Holmes Student Center’s Carl Sandburg Auditorium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
She said she felt the seminar is important “because this is part of the organization’s efforts to develop strategies to enhance the educational status and underrepresentation of blacks in higher education.”
